Remember back in the eighties when Heavy Metal artists' freedom of speech was challenged by the "Washington Wives" calling themselves the PMRC (Parents Music Resource Center)? Well this kind of unsuccessful attempt at stifling Hard Rock and Heavy Metal artists' creativity and freedom has happened to the House Of Noizz show!
I will ignore the fact that the complaint came from a ex-family member with a personal axe to grind, and pretend it's a real one haha.
Suffice to say, we have been slapped with our own "Parental Advisory" sticker - a verbal warning before each of our shows, advising people of our lewd, rude and tattooed show! And rightly so! I'm now hoping for the same ultimate result as the "Parental Advisory" sticker achieved for the US in the eighties... attention and notoriety! Already it seems that ratings and interest in the show is on an increase :)
Yes siree, now I'm waiting for word of mouth to begin spreading about this show with the dangerous reputation, worrying religiously fanatic parents and forbidding rebellious teenagers all over the country to listen! And just like when I was a kid buying every "Parental Advisory" album I could get my hands on, every curious set of ears will get hooked onto our great music show, because at the end of the day that's what we do - play GREAT music.
The one secret we try not to let out of course is that at the end of the day we're really just a couple of regular nice caring kiwi blokes after all, who teach more morality than you'll ever find on the 6 o'clock news or a TV show like "Hell's Kitchen"! Not very "Heavy Metal" of us to be regular folk! Sad but true. Listeners are in good hands with us. The only thing which separates us from other people on the street is our uncompromising passion for all things HEAVY METAL, so much so that we put all out spare cash into its promotion!
So, in closing, I quote Dee Snider (friend of House Of Noizz and frontman for Twisted Sister, who did battle in court with the forementioned PMRC) - "YOU CAN'T STOP ROCK N ROLL!"

NEW AVANTASIA WILL BE A DOUBLE-ALBUM
NEW AVANTASIA WILL BE A DOUBLE-ALBUM
Tobias has just decided that there is too much material to put it all on one album. So the next chapter of Avantasia will be spread over two albums.
?I have always given my very best, but this new chapter in Avantasia?s history is too much and too ambitious to be just a regular album. I have worked on it for years now, and it has become even more than two albums! I don?t know if I will release one first, or both simultaneously, or maybe even both in one special package. The production is so massive and I have so many guests this time. It?s the continuation of the ?Scarecrow?-story. I knew that story would be spread out over two albums back then when we started working on it in 2006, cause we had writtem a real Rock Opera of over 20 songs even back then. But since then we kept composing, and out came even bigger and better material. Sometimes you don?t have a single good idea for months, whereas at another point it just keeps flowing. ?The Scarecrow? was a huge success, with that success backing me up, it?s inspiring to be able to do things big time! Looking at the music industry today with all the CD burning and downloading I guess in the near future many of us traditional Rock and Metal bands won?t be able to spend such a production budget, I am afraid I won?t be able to afford so many guests and such a big production with orchestration and a choir and all that. That?s why this production takes so much time, it may be the last big epic I will be able to afford, and I want it to be the biggest piece I have worked on so far.?
So far Tobias has confirmed the following musicians to be part of the forthcoming Avantasia opus: Klaus Meine (Scorpions), Ripper Owens (ex-Judas Priest, Yngwie Malmsteen), Eric Singer (KISS), Michael Kiske (ex-Helloween), Jorn Lande (Masterplan), Bob Catley (Magnum), Sascha Paeth, Felix Bohnke (Edguy) and Alex Holzwart (Rhapsody, Sieges Even). The last guest star was confirmed with Russell Allen, exceptional star vocalist of US Progressive Metal heroes Symphony X, who will be part of the new Avantasia chapters. More details about his contribution soon- also check out www.tobiassammet.com

Strange thing, it got me thinking. Have you ever thought about it, because some day there will be your last day, and some time it will be your last breath; and it will be your last hour, and your last 15 minutes.
Funny thing is, we don't know how will it come. I've been smoking all my life, but I bet I'll get hit by a bus. I've been drinking every day since September 2005, and I'll get something stupid, like colon cancer.
Sometimes you worry about slipping in the shower, but it will be a piece of a sandwich that gets you. You feel cautious about driving from the pub after a few drinks, but the auroplane that will crash into your house is already in the air. Ever thought you might get electrocuted flicking the switch with wet hands? I promise, it will be the slippery stairs or something like that.
You know, freaky shit like this gets you wondering...
I find it hard to sleep at night,
I fear the worst is yet to come.

Sitting here wondering what band I'd like to chase to be on the cover for the next issue, and thinking of the bands which have been the most elusive over the years such as KISS, Metallica, Megadeth, Ozzy, Poison. Any suggestions of bands I should chase for an exclusive?
PS - Cheers to altmarket for mentioning House Of Noizz on their blog!

If you can think of anything you'd like to see on the House Of Noizz website, please let us know. We're keen to build an awesomely functional website. May not be as pretty as it could be, but it should have plenty of cool stuff on it by the time we're finished with it!
